I used essie mint candy apple and dotted with rio nail art colors. I really don't like the rio brush.
It's ok for straight stripes, but crappy for swirls... or maby i'm crappy ;-)

Inspired by the norwegian flag on our national day :-) I did it this way because I didn't have time to do the entire flag. And I think I like the way it came out better than the flag probably would end up :-)

I used Sally Hansen Diamonds and Rubies, and Rio nail art in white and blue.

I'm a fan of layering and matte topcoat!!

This time I tried Nivea Rose Gloss as really pink and kind of dark cerise'ish pink. on top I put Nivea turbo pastel, a dusty light, sheer pink. And matte about you on top.

Love the effect :-D

For the dots I used Rimmel pro gold infusion :-)

This was this years first easter design, orange on orange, I used diamond cosmetics danger zone under hm dashing diva.

Danger zone is sheer, and I topped it with essie matte about you before dotting, and to me it looked like play dough on my nails :-D

My last post was a first time posting from my phone, I'm going to practice on adding text later :-p also, the colors are totally off... with my HTC you have to take pictures outside and in the sun to get the colors close to correct.

This is my light blue hello kitty hm polish topped of with white konad hearts :-) I also added some glitter from wet n' wild diamond sparkle! My absolute favourite :-D

I did better than usual with the Konad, and I think the secret is just to take your time, and wait 'til everything dries before konading :-)

I used purple from rimmel, yellow from isadora and red from wet n wild.

This is what i ended up with after my light blue disaster on the thirteenth :-)

I needed cheering up, so I went for an unused sparkle from Gosh! Bright Passion.

I did not consider the dark jelly base in the polish, and put it on top of opi ate berries in the canaries.... Result is ok I guess, but I think this glitter would be great over a darker shade :-D

It's me and my boyfriends 4 month day today :-D So I had to do partynails :-D

I have done this design before, but I couldn't do it on both hands and I found it really difficult. But I guess I have developed some skills! Because it was easy his time! on both hands :-D

I used acrylics and glitter top coat and I think I will try acrylics for a new atemp on confetti nails soon :-D I also added a rihnestone to my right hand ringfinger :-)

I looked through a (for me) new blog last night, and got totally inspired! Wah Nails. So I wanted to work on my painting skills today.

I made a Cherry and tried a leopard print, but it definetly needs more work.. it looks more like some ancient language :-p

in this one I used China glaze Entourage for the base, and I added depend 163 to the "moon" and also little purple hearts :-) The line is China glaze Watermelon rind and on top I had Wet n' Wild Kaleidoscope!

I rushed too much putting on my polish today, and didn't let it dry long enough.

So i tried to fix it later today. But with a different color. Starting color was golden bronze from gosh and on top off that, i put OPI designer series Desiree. Not shure if The end result would have been the same without Gosh...

I was on my way to India when I wrote this at the airport (and also polished my nails at the airport) And for now, I'm going with plain un-dotted colors :-)

I'm taking pictures, so I might do a post of the mumbai nails when I get back :-)

This is a dark blue I got from nailmail.se :-) It looks kind of black if you don't want a vnl. But I like it :-) I tried to decorate it with silver dots, but I went a little overboard ;-D

I kept the confetti on four nails, and made the rest yellow with black dots. One of my favourite combos :-) It is bombay yellow from Gosh.

in my last post, I promised to write more, and then I just stopped writing :-p I think I'll just stop promising ;-) But now i have a couple of posts planned.

This one is inspired by Nail of the weeks confetti nails:

The only thing different was that I didn't plan the colors ;-) And I didn't use a topcoat inbetween. I think topcoats in between would have made the colors stand more out, so I'll definately try that next time. And I will try this again, I loved it :-D

I really needed a cheerful mani this day. My love is studying two semesters in Finland, and cheerful dots helped a teeny tiny bit on the travel day. :-)

So any tips on what kind of polish to buy in Finland is great, I think I'll visit Finland quite a few times over the next year :-)

I have a returning problem... Whenever I wash my hair or wash my dishes, my mani peels...
I work at a hotel and it involves dishwashing... and I cant use gloves, it would take too much time to take them on and off...

Do any of you have a good tip on how to keep the mani through a workday for me? :-s

And also, I'm sorry for being away for such a long time. I'm in love :-D And I keep forgetting to take pics of my hands :-)

Again I wanted green nails, and I started with one coat of my beloved china glaze, entourage, and then one coat of gosh green hawai. The not so nice yellow dots are from rio nail art. Not the best kind of yellow for this one.. Then I splashed on some rhine stones and ... Tadaaa:

If I where to change anything, it would defnitley be the yellow dots, it would definitley be better with a more bright yellow :-)

Trumpet nails...

My nails today are dedicatet to all trumpet players on a beginner-level ;-)
First of all I did the scittles colors as a fun background, and on the three middle fingers, I wrote 1-2-3 (same as you would write in your music to help yourself push down the right buttons..)

I think this design could revolutionize trumpet teaching :-p

Ok, maybe not, but it was a fun mani to have on a trumpet gig!

I used HM colors on all fingers exept my thumb, who has china glaze, Entourage.

Then i dotted on the numbers with a charcoal from maybelline :-)

Bombay nails!

Today I chose a sunny design! I found a bunch of GOSH polishes at half off!! (really cheap, and in Norway that means 5-6 $...)
The polishes used today are Bombay Yellow and Holographic.

I loved the yellow, but the holographic was a bit strange to apply.. But I managed to get it on almost evenly...

I stupidly forgot to take pictures of the finished design, so I tried to reproduse it in photobucket :-p Something like this:

The main color here is one of my new favourites! Its green with a gold shimmer and it is Golden dragon from Gosh! And the pink dots are from no7 (boots brand) I made diffrent patterns with a tooth pick. And decorated with rhine stones. I reaaly like rhne stones, I thought it would be a pain to use and that they would fall off, but no, it's easy and I love it!

I think the picture at the top is most true to the color.

Today I will show you a new polish. I found some Allessandro polishes in a local perfume shop. I have only seen french manicure sets from thm earlier, so I was very happy to see this!

I only picked out this color, but I might come back for more! This was the greenest I found, but they had a nice blue as well (more blue than this ;-) )

When I started this blog, I started in norwegian, until I began to want some readers ;-)

After writing a couple of posts I figured that I might have to actually do something to get these readers ;-) So I opened a Twitter account. And that, along with commenting others blogs really worked!

So, todays topic is green! I love green. Love love love green! I have so many green clothes, bags and purses that it is ridiculous!! But I have only four green polishes, and two of those are frankens... So I decided to start a major green frankening operation :-D

And I discovered that I can franken with my old eyeshadows!!! I can't wait! I just need some old empty polish bottles... My nails will be soooo green :-D

I kind of wanted to do a new design today, but I love my "pollack" too much to change it ;-)

I have a part time job at a hotel and I work the breakfast shift. My nails startet to come off on some fingers, and I got scared that I would tear off my real nails at work, so I did my best to remove them on monday night.

I didn't ruin my natural nails, but I have a lot of remains from the gel on my nails.. look terrible!! (I didn't take a picture ;-)) Veeeery soon I'll post a new design, I just need time to dry my mani before I go out in the world.. Cause my latest looks like s**t :-p

The polish takes aaaaages to dry.. And yesterday I waited more than an hour before going to bed. And this morning my nails are a complete mess!!!

Grrrr! I can't wait to try the other DIY gel nail thing. (this time with a UV light, so I have hopes for this one..)

Update on the gel nails

Yup, the gel dissolves when I remove my nail polish.. And that makes applying new polish a nightmare, because first I have to "Re-gel" my nails... Hmpf..

But I guess that is the risk you take when trying a cheap set :-)

I'm planning to try out another set. Almost 10 times the price and hopefully more efficient...!!

Until then I am sticking with my current manicure... (Boooring) Or I might try to file away the color and change it...

Yes, Today my plan was a crazy french with a penguin on my ring finger.. the french was even weirder than planned, and the penguin was so much fun to do, that I decided to draw on all my nails. But then I (of course) ran out of time, and I just did my left hand with different colors :-)

I don't really like an Orange french, but at least now I know for shure :-)

DIY gel nails

Yes, I decided to try out DIY gel nails from "broadway".

It was a really cheap set (at least cheap here in Norway..) about 20$, so I hope I'm not destroying my nails now...

It is a gel kit that doesn't need UV light and it came with really short tips (perfekt for me!)

I put it on wihtout too much hassel. Here is a picture of the tips without gel.

Then I added two coats of gel with activator inbetween.

And then some color. (And of course after that I realized they needed a LOT of filing...)

The nails are still on my fingers today, but the gel went missing when I removed the polish...

So tonight I will try to apply gel again, and let it dry until tomorrow :-)

Last night I redid my nails (shock) and this time in purple! I used my two purple H&M's 'Great Looks' and 'Bad Temper'
I'm sorry for the crappy picture, but my computer "died" last night, and I had to take a mobile picture in bad lighting and send it to the blog... (Done!)

After applying my two base colors, I made a diagonal line withe my H&M 'gold' and 4 small dots in one corner. Hopefully I will be able to take a better picture during the day :-)

I also started taking vitamines for my nails :-) Vit B and zink. I've had them for ages, and finally I manged to remember to swallow them ;-)

Red Alert!

This is todays design! I wanted something red, and it is definetly red!

I used the following products:

My self-cut striping brush and one other self cut brush, a little larger than the striping one..
Base coat and top coat Kiss diamond nails
Base red: Mavala #53 London
Shimmer red: Depend #91
Gold: H&M Gold
Black: H&M Moonless night

First I applied the two different reds, one coat of each:

Then I put a small drop of the gold polish on a piece of paper and used the striperbrush to make a diagonal line. After lining all my nails, I painted on the other shorter line. (on my pinkie)

Then I filled in one half of my nail with the gold. I used a slightly larger brush, but not a polish brush. After that I traced the edges with the black, and Tadaaaa:

Saturday afernoon I bought a yellow neon from Depend, and I had to test it straight away on one nail, and:

Dark blue with a golden corner

Today I tried out one of my two new L'oreal polishes, #700 Navy velvet, a dark blue shimmer! Until I started polishing my nails, I considered myself a non dark-blue-wearing person, but when the blue is so shimmery and beautiful, I'll definitly wear it :-)

I decided to decorate the blue with some golden stripes, coming from on corner. I used my H&M gold and a self made striper brush :-)

Purple pleasures

Today I changed the background on my phone, (of course it used to be green) and the new one inspired me to choose tonights color :-) In real life the phone and my nails match completely :-D

I painted the stars with a makeup brush, cut down to only a couple of straws.

This picture shows the color best :-)

I used H&M great looks for the base color, and Moonless night for the star. I changed my mind from yesterday abut the color of moonless night. I'm shure it is black. With a green flash! :-)

It's not easy to get used to recognising polish colors :-s

I'm still working on how to get the most realistic colors on pictures taken inside, and I am getting closer :-) I also avoided bubbles in my manicure today :-D I googled the subject earlier, and for me, the answer was to avoid water until the manicure is complete and dry :-) Duh..!

Black and greeen!

Today I'm spending my day playing the trumpet inside a dark concert hall and I wanted to try something fun! I used my H&M Moonless Night as my base color, When I bought it I tought it was a shimmer black, but now I think it is more daaaark dark green and black'ish.

Now too the fun part! A while ago orderd a pile of acrylic paint. And 6 of them are neons!

So, since I'm spending the day in darkness, I made neon green racing stripes :-D

Dior Day

Yesterday I put on one of my five dior polishes! (But the pictures are from today, and I obviously went to bed before it was dry... Another lesson learnt!)

But first.. The purple I had on yesterday only lasted a few hours.. The whole thing came off my index finger, so I bet my basecoat and main color didn't go along..

Anyway, I'm planning a shopping frenzy at Head2toe, so I can get some real nailpolsh that actually stays on my nails!

Today, I'm wearing blue, and I found two of a "real brand" and I hope it will stay the day :-p

Pale Konad Purple

Todays archive color is purple. It is light and sheer. And I have three coats over a clear base. Some of the fingers are opaque, because the coats are thicker. The brand is Vera Valenti nr 11 and I guess it's portugese :-) I also use Konad plate nr M25 and white special polish.

It is more shimmery than in the picture, and I like it! I have a brown color in the same brand, and yay!! They are not just decoration colors :-D

Three down, many many to go.. :-p

Red Red Red

Ok! This is the start of my nail polish archive! I've started with the last polish I bought, Mavala nr 53 London. And this is only one coat. I must admit I'm still trying to learn all the expressions, and I am wondering if this is a jelly or a cream? :-D Never mind. It is red!

As my second coat I used a depend red sparkly polish, nr 91 I like!!

I will update the post with an outdoor picture in a few hours. And see if I still like it ;-)

So, the first two polishes in my archive :-D

Future plans

I am planning to try out all of my polishes. Quite a job, and I'm afraid it won't be to much fun.. A lot of them are relly hard too put on, and works best as nail art polishes, but I am shure that I will discover some that works like a charm!

Most of my polishes are unknown and cheep, and soon I will have an archive :-D

Wich brings me to my next plan. I really want to work on my pictures, so far I have focused on showing the design, and kind of trying to manipulate it to the right colors.. Now, I'd like to like to find a good setting on my camera for nails, and a good indoor lighting for the sunless days...

And also I'm twittering! And hopefully put my blog "out there"! I've been waiting until I get "really god at this". But why wait? I might never get "really good" :-D

Now I'll go and polish!

Acrylic paint!

I've tried it again and this time it stays!

I just used a normal basecoat and started painting with my acrylics!
I wanted to do a rainbow and after much struggling I sort of made it!

The uneveness was too visible so I added a layer of gold shimmer!

Much better!!

The problem then was that I could only do the rainbow with my left hand, so I had to come up with someting else on the other hand... I started with a green base color and then I got the idea to do the Brazilian flag! You would think that it would be harder to do with "the wrong hand" than the rainbow, but it wasn't :-D

I'm also working on my photos.. It's really hard to get the colors right...

I need more sunshine :-D

Purple shimmer

I have tested some acrylic paint on my nails, but I'm really not good at it (yet) but I will practice and I will blog my results :-D

So I removed my unphotografed acrylic and tried out something purple. I bought a dark purple and a light purple sparkle (i thought) from depend. The dark one was great, and when I put the sparkly one on top I got a holographic result. I couldn't quite get the colors right on my photo...

It's more silvery in real life :-) I tried out some green butterflies on top... Didn't really work :-p

Minty green

Yesterday I made a minty manicure and I plan on keeping it for a few days :-) (Update: a nail broke and I chnged it...)

Color mix

I changed my nails again.. This time a mix of green and black (black with dark green)

I applyed my Sally Hansen Diamond base coat. And applied a thic coat of green. While it is still wet, i put a coupl of blak drops on top and mix with a tothpick.

I use too much black and the green was a little to dark for my taste as well. But now i know :-)

Glittery french II

I couldn't help myself and tried another french.

This time i Used 1 coat of base, and then a sheer gold. The tips I painted with a kind of mother of pearl white and then a clear topcoat.

And of course I had to do som konad...

This is my second time trying a french manicure, so it is not very good, but I suppose it takes some training.

I've tried to do a normal french mancure, and then added some green glitter. And a Butterfly stamp on the thumb. Green, of course! (still working on how to get these stamps sentered ;-) )

More colorful summer nails

I tried to make nails with fire by using a yellow base color and blending in orange and gold.. I was not very sucsessfull..

Actually it looks much better on the photo than in real life... I even tried to save it with gold shimmer on top.. No help!

So my next idea was much easyer! A simple blue base with pink sprinkles! (It goes with my summer dress) How I got my sprinkles, you can see in my next post.. I went a little shopping-crazy down here!
